Three years ago, Scott was thrust upon the spiritual path while living in the Peruvian Amazon as a Shamanic Apprentice for almost four months. After his stint in South America, Scott came back to the US with a renewed strength of spirit that lead to him quitting his corporate job and traveling the continent for the next 2 years. During his travels he initially discovered an innate connection to the potentials of movement as spiritual practice through Yoga. Upon moving to Atlanta in Jan 2012, he discovered The Wave Atlanta where he began to explore dance as mediation via the practice of 5 Rhythms as created by the late dancing-diva, Gabrielle Roth. Though he is not formally trained as a dancer, the language of movement is one that Scott speaks fluently. Through his own practice, Scott has learned to cultivate a state of being that carries him through life with the ease, balance, and awareness. As a lover of music, Scott is a practicing yogi and flow artist, with an affinity for truth and a sacredness that only the present moment can provide.
So much of our daily life is preoccupied with appointments, class, emails, dinner, last week, next year, or any amount of scenarios that take us out of the present moment. When we allow ourselves to move freely and without those pesky egoistical inhibitions we are completely aware of what’s happening in and around our bodies. We become here and now! Humans have been dancing since before the invention of language and it is perhaps one of the most ancient forms of creative self-expression. Consider this session of Ecstatic Movement not as a class, but as an opportunity to connect with an aspect of yourself that’s been waiting to be remembered. No choreography, no steps; Just you and the rhythm. Come and let go!
