Melissa started her path to Yoga in 2010 after her Father’s sudden death. Melissa was seeking peace and healing in her life. She started practicing yoga and meditation in 2011 and completed her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training later that year at Peachtree Yoga Center in Sandy Springs, GA.

She started teaching her first classes with the U.S. Army where she worked as a Project Manager and continued teaching when she was transferred to Ogden, Utah to Hill Air Force Base. Melissa is versed in Ashtanga Yoga and took several courses in Yoga Therapy course from Carrie Coppola of Mudita Yoga in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2012. She has also practiced, studied and attended workshops from Mitchel Bleier, Kathy Needham of The Front in Ogden, Utah and D’ana Baptiste of Centered City Yoga while in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Melissa is compassionate about Yoga for Addiction Recovery and taking the 8 Fold Path of Yoga and applying it to recovery as a way to heal in one’s life. She works with rehab facilities, schools, and athletes bringing yoga to those who may not have found it otherwise. Melissa provides in depth understanding of the body when teaching. She loves to move to music and ignite the body leaving her students feeling completely open. She continues to teach Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Power Yoga, Restorative and Yoga Therapy at You Yoga, Me Yoga & More. She guest teaches at Lululemon and Atlanta Active Wear, as well. She is very involved in the Atlanta Yoga Community alongside some of most accomplished teachers on the East Coast. She continues to educate herself through various extended Yoga trainings offered throughout the United States. She is a volunteer contributor to http://www.myyogascene.com/ where she maintains and runs the site along side Isabelle Casey.
