Nelson Mandela said “Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We are all meant to shine as children do. …As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
As a lifelong student of yoga, Karissa believes that yoga encourages transformation, inward reflection and fearlessness. With yoga, we can uncover the pure light shining in us all.
As a teacher of yoga, she brings her experiences as a student to her classes. She blends conscious breathing and a mindful movement to students that are open to learn the beauty, strength and grace that is yoga.
Karissa began her path to yoga at a young age with a meditation practice .While working in corporate America; she discovered the incredible stress release that her yoga practice provides. As her practice matured she found her passion for teaching. Yoga has also allowed her to unleash her creativity as a ceramics artist, illustrator and many other creative endeavors.
Karissa attained her 200 hour Hatha yoga teacher certification and is registered with Yoga Alliance. Also, she has trained with YogaFit and Yoga Stretch for seniors. She has studied with David Aukamp, Ruthann Martin (Springs Yoga), Mitchel Bleier (MB Yoga), Graham Fowler and Elizabeth Nix (Peachtree Yoga) and Doug Keller (Do Yoga).
Karissa loves to witness others as they find their own path through yoga and invites everyone to come and experience “enhanced sensation” through her yoga classes.
